Winter and Spring Benefit Shows

The Benefit Shows date back more than twenty years. Prior to 1998, the Stafford Jaycees had been running the shows for almost fourteen years. Then, when a number of the chapter members aged out of the Jaycees and joined the Stafford County Lions Club, they brought not only the project but the knowledge of running the Benefit Shows with them.

Our shows bring good Live Family Entertainment to our area for those who may not have the ability to see a live stage production. Our Holiday Show is usually a musical with an educational message. Our Spring Show is usually a magic show centered toward children of all ages. We also use our Benefit Shows to inform the public about the work of the Stafford County Lions Club, as well as the work of Lions International.

As we distribute free show passes (paid for by our show sponsors) to local organizations and schools for distribution to the underprivileged, we have received a lot of fantastic feedback as to their needs and wishes. This feedback helps us better serve the community. A side-benefit of our shows has been the successful recruiting of new Lions Club members.

Funds raised through our efforts will enable us to continue our support and training of the blind and deaf underprivileged children and seniors in our area, along with providing Holiday & Spring cheer for the less fortunate in our area. Our Lions Club invites local businesses and residents to help with our project by sponsoring a small group of our areas handicapped, special needs children and seniors, so that they may attend the show as their guest. In appreciation of this, we send them a complimentary pass to attend the show as well. You may keep your family pass or distribute them to deserving people of your choice (employees, church, etc.), or sign them and return them with your check and we will distribute them for you.

This has been a wonderful experience for the children and seniors in the past and a very generous gesture from the community, and on their behalf, we extend a gracious Thank You!!
